Support Jonathan's COTS Walk!
Hi!
Many of you know of my work as the Facilities Director for the Committee on Temporary Shelter. As we deal with schools closing, working from home, panicked shoppers, social distancing, and self quarantining, it is important to remember that folks without homes have an even harder time with this.
At this time, our shelters for individuals and families remain open, as does our Daystation, a daytime drop in center for those experiencing homelessness. Many other services, and venues such as public libraries, are closed at this time. We remain open, putting into place rigorous guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing our spaces, and teaching those we serve about social distancing, hygiene, and staying healthy so that we may continue to serve the most vulnerable among us.
In an effort to slow the spread of the virus, the COTS Walk, one of our largest fundraising and awareness raising events, will need to be a virtual event. Normaly this event draws over 1500 people. Now more than ever, we need your help to continue to serve the homeless, and to prevent households from ever becoming homeless through our outstanding Homeless Prevention efforts.More information about COTS and the COTS Walk is available at cotsonline.org.
Thanks to the Walk sponsors, EVERY DOLLAR raised through the COTS Walk supports shelter and services for families and individuals in crisis.
